Main Responsibilities:

The sheet metal worker will be responsible for producing sheet metal works, parts, and assemblies intended for the naval sector or other sectors. The main tasks will include:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings: Analyzing drawings and plans to identify the operations to be performed.
  • Marking and cutting materials: Marking shapes on plates, tubes, and metal profiles (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) from plans or models.
  • Assembling and mounting parts: Assembling pieces through welding, riveting, bolting, or other means while following safety rules.
  • Shaping and forming: Shaping metals to give them the desired form (bending, curving, rolling, marking).
  • Quality control: Checking the compliance of the finished parts according to technical requirements and quality standards.
  • Repair and maintenance: Carrying out repair or maintenance operations on damaged metal structures.
  • Adherence to safety standards: Rigorously applying safety rules (wearing PPE, following procedures, etc.).

 

Required Skills:

  • Mastery of sheet metal techniques (cutting, bending, welding, marking) and specific tools (shear, bender, roller, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of metal properties (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using conventional and digital production tools (benders, curving machines).

 

Desired Profile:

  • Education: CAP/BEP/BTS in Sheet Metal Work, Professional Baccalaureate in Industrial Sheet Metal Technician or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in sheet metal work required; beginners accepted based on profile.
  • Personal qualities: Rigor, precision, autonomy, and ability to work in a team.
  • Physical condition: Ability to lift loads and work in a workshop and outdoors.

  • Welding: Weld different metal pieces (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) using various processes (MIG, TIG, ARC, MAG, oxy-acetylene) according to technical requirements.
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install complex metal structures in the workshop or on-site.
  • Quality Control: Verify the quality of the welds performed (visual and non-destructive).

Required Skills:

The stainless steel polisher is responsible for the preparation, surface treatment, and finishing of stainless steel parts. Their mission is to achieve a smooth, shiny appearance that meets quality standards. Their main tasks will include:

  • Preparation of Parts: Perform degreasing, sanding, and stripping of metal parts before polishing.
  • Polishing Surfaces: Use various tools and machines (grinders, sanders, polishers) to polish stainless steel parts, following appropriate processes (mechanical polishing, electropolishing).
  • Quality Control of Surface: Ensure compliance of polished parts by checking for uniformity, shine, and absence of defects (scratches, dents).
